Job Title: Accounting Controller

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Controller with knowledge of construction to oversee our accounting department and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and team leadership, and will play a key role in shaping our financial strategies and ensuring compliance with regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

– Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or IFRS.

– Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting, collaborating with department heads to align budgets with organizational goals.

– Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting.

– Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

– Audit Coordination: Coordinate external audits, preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries to ensure a smooth audit process.

– Tax Compliance: Oversee tax reporting and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate submission of all tax filings.

– Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights on operational performance, identifying trends, and recommending improvements.

– Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

– Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

 

Qualifications:

 

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation required.

– Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience.

– Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

– Proven leadership and team management abilities.

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

– Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
