Description
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead estimating efforts for large-scale electrical projects in the data center and semiconductor sectors. This role is responsible for preparing competitive and accurate cost estimates while supporting business development and preconstruction efforts.
The Senior Electrical Estimator will manage the full estimating process for complex electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience in mission-critical environments, deep knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to lead estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects including data centers, semiconductor fabs, and other mission-critical facilities.
- Review and analyze plans, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate takeoffs and pricing.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to develop complete project estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Develop conceptual budgets, design-assist estimates, and GMP proposals.
- Identify project risks and opportunities and incorporate them into pricing strategies.
- Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
- Assist with bid strategy, proposal preparation, and client presentations.
- Maintain and update estimating databases, labor units, and historical cost information.
- Mentor junior estimators and support the growth of the estimating team.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of electrical estimating experience
- Experience estimating large commercial or industrial electrical projects
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems, cable tray systems, busway, conduit and feeder installations, and mission-critical infrastructure
- Experience with data center or semiconductor construction projects preferred
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, and Bluebeam
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with design-build or design-assist delivery methods
- Knowledge of BIM coordination and prefabrication strategies
- Experience working on large-scale projects ($10M – $200M+)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent field experience)
